The primary function of an employee in this position is to perform semi-skilled operations and maintenance duties in the City wastewater treatment facility, including monitoring, operating and maintaining equipment. Additionally, an employee in this position performs testing and sampling duties, including making equipment adjustments to maintain operational standards.
The employee in this class does not exercise supervisory duties over other employees. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor and under general supervision of the Wastewater Superintendent. The principal duties of this position are performed in an outdoor environment that may include working in adverse weather conditions and hazards involving the use of power tools, heavy equipment and exposure to hazardous material.
Due to the on call nature of this position, the working hours vary and may include weekends, evenings and holidays.

Idaho Wastewater Treatment Operator In Trainer certificate (must have within 6 months of hire)
An Idaho driver’s license with Class B CDL and tanker endorsements (must have within 90 days of hire)
