Awareness Center for Counseling – Clinician – Blackfoot

Clinician is responsible to provide diagnostic assessments, therapy and support services for a mixed caseload including adults, children, adolescents, and families experiencing mental health issues, communication challenges or family conflict. The Clinician will be familiar with other services and resources in the community and work closely with them to provide information and support when required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Conduct Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessments, Develop and implement treatment plans based on CDA, DSM-5 criteria, and additional assessments as needed or required by third party biller (Optum Idaho, BlueCross/Blue Shield, etc.).
2. Act as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
3. Provide individual, group and/or family therapy as needed.
4. Provide therapy services in the office, via telehealth or clients home as indicated by the Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment and Treatment plan.
4. Provide collaboration with outside agencies to facilitate client care coordination as appropriate.
5. Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.
6. Submit billing and other related paperwork in a timely fashion as detailed in agency policy and procedures.
7. Maintain all professional licensure(s) required and provide prompt cooperation with third party credentialing for billing purposes.
8. Conduct activities related to compliance with federal and state laws related to mandated reporting, HIPPA, and the Data Privacy Act. 6
9. Adhere to professional code of ethics.
11. Observe and follow Awareness Center for Counseling’s mission statement, values and policies and procedures.
10. Other duties as assigned by supervisor or the agency Clinical Director.

Education and Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
1. Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy from Nationally Accredited University.
2. Independent licensure by Idaho board of Occupational License in good standing, as an LMSW, LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or LCPC
3. Must maintain professional licensure and/or certification throughout employment with this agency to include annual CEUs.

Other Qualifications
1. Must be able to work flexible schedule including evenings.
2. Must successfully complete a Department of Health and Welfare Background check
3. Must be able to work as a team member and cooperatively with community programs.
4. Must have reliable means of transportation and a valid driver’s license. If you use your own vehicle for your work-related travel, must have current vehicle insurance.
5. Must provide and maintain current professional malpractice insurance.
6. Must have good written and oral communication skills and good organizational skills.
7. Must maintain agency, coworker, and client confidentiality and abide by the Data Privacy Act and the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act.
