Executive Director Message Stephanie Govatos Last week I had an opportunity to attend the yearly awards luncheon put on by the Bingham Crisis Center. Each year they honor volunteers, their staff, law enforcement and the court system personnel and thank them for making a difference in the community. I was so impressed as I am every year at the support from people that attend this event including the Mayor, County Commissioners, Sheriff and his employees as well as staff from the Police Department and the Prosecutors office. This just proves to me how well different organizations in Bingham County work together to make a safer, better place to live. I have found that in the business community as well. It is amazing to read about an event that one particular business put on and see all of the other businesses who assisted in making the event happen. I am proud to live in a community where this happens all of the time. The support that is felt within our community is amazing. I personally want to thank all of you who responded so quickly to my need for sponsors at the Senior Award Luncheon. I got so many responses and you make my job so easy every year when I have to ask again. Even on the second email when I needed just three more I had responses from those three businesses within the hour and have been contacted since by four others offering to sponsor. See what I mean about Blackfoot being such a supportive community? Yes we may not have a skating rink or a go-cart track or a shopping mall but we have good people and that to me is much more important. As a Blackfoot citizen I want to thank the businesses who provide for me and my children to make a living, the law enforcement officers who keep us safe and the residents who make this such a special place to live! |
