President's Letter We are officially into the new year, and with that we have both a new president in the White House and in the Blackfoot Chamber of Commerce. One president is looking for change and the other is looking and saying things aren't that bad. I think here in Eastern Idaho we have the advantage, meaning we depend a lot more on each other than we do on outsiders. I know there are some that rely on outside business to make their businesses work and the down turn in the national economy will effect them. Many of use rely on a lot more on local business and hopefully, if we all work together, we can make our businesses work here in Eastern Idaho. Now more than ever we need to support our local businesses when at all possible. If we stick together and work toward one common goal, making the business community in Blackfoot as strong as possible, we can weather the storm. I am a great fan of Blackfoot business and believe that we have it a lot better than most parts of the country. Does that mean we will not have our share of problems, NO, but if we all support each other we can lessen the blow? I don't think we will have to change much if we all stick together, believe in Blackfoot, stay positive, we will have a good year. Have a great 2009! |
