A contest kick-off encouraging all local restaurants, any organization, or proud individuals to participate by entering their “BEST SOUP” to win. Along with sampling all the “BEST SOUPs” in Bingham County, salad, bread, drink and desserts will be served. Advance ticket costs are $5 for individual, and $20 for families. A fun Children’s Carnival with lots of prizes for kids, exciting local entertainment, a raffle and silent auction will also be part of the activities. Friends of the Library Blackfoot Library Friends of the Blackfoot Public Library will hold their fall book sale on Saturday, October 25th from 11-4 in the Library basement. The sale area has been expanded with many new and interesting books donated by the library and the community since the last sale. For the collector, a silent auction will be featured showcasing unique book and book sets on art, literature, and history. A set of Time Life Library of Art portfolios with art information and beautiful prints will be offered; a 1908 Ridpath Library of Universal Literature (25 volumes) will be offered; a 1913 interesting ink stained Advanced English Grammar book will be available. These three groups of books will just be a part of our silent auction table. This collection of books can be bid on sale day until 3pm. Children’s books, nearly new books, fifty cents for a bag of books, also free books and magazines. There will be many, many books, too many to mention that are all looking for new homes.
